Each year, ARTICA invites artists of all genres and media to honor this city's history, push creative boundaries, and engage their communities through interactive art at our annual riverfront festival. The multidisciplinary nature of ARTICA Festival inspires collaboration between artists and fosters the development of new, contemporary works of art. This free, unconventional art festival is the culmination of our efforts to promote the advancement of local artists year round. Our Mission: ARTICA provides a platform to celebrate the creative spirit of St. Louis culminating in our annual riverfront festival. Artists, musicians, poets, performers, and creative citizens are invited to participate in the ARTICA Festival— a multidisciplinary outdoor arts festival. All are welcome to create, participate, and celebrate artistic expression!
ARTICA 2026: Anomaly Test Pattern(s)
WHEN: Saturday, October 3rd through Sunday, October 4th
WHERE: Gateway South (the area around Cedar St and S 2nd St)
PROPOSALS
An application is required for artists seeking funding to support their project at ARTICA. Proposals submitted by the funding deadline will be reviewed by an independent jury.
Artists who are not selected for funding will still be invited to participate in the festival. ARTICA is committed to maintaining an open and inclusive platform for creative expression, regardless of funding status.
JURIED REVIEW AND FUNDING
The deadline to submit for funding is Monday, July 6th at 11:59 PM. Proposals are reviewed and selected by an independent jury of community members who are dedicated to the arts in St. Louis. Funds are granted to individuals and collaborative teams for art proposals that excel in the following areas:
+ Works which stress community involvement
+ Interactive or participatory nature of work
+ Relevance to the history and culture of the site or the Mississippi River
+ Experimental nature of work
+ Originality of concept
+ Strength of design
